Study Title: An exploration of the mechanism of action of an equine-assisted intervention.
Journal: Animals, 2019
Summary: Using three datasets, the study showed an increase in positive life skills for individuals after experiencing equine-assisted activities. Specifically, emotion is studied through skin conductance response. The emotional component within equine-assisted learning is backed by evidence through this modality, and further connecting the data through video analysis and interviews. The study suggests this emotional component is a strong contributor to improved learning efficacy which supports an embodied approach to learning.
